THE ROLE:

AMD's Global Trade Compliance team is responsible for executing day-to-day operational tasks to support business operations. We are looking for a new team member to join our cohesive and collaborative group. You will work proactively and provide guidance to internal departments to ensure international business activities comply with applicable regulations. Your responsibilities will include assisting business units in integrating trade compliance requirements into their practices and processes, developing necessary policy, and training, and driving projects to enhance global trade operations and mitigate compliance risks. Additionally, you will oversee a record-keeping program ensuring all import and export documentation is properly filed, maintained, and purged. You will also support investigations and due diligence activities, helping to implement corrective actions as required, and function as a point of contact to ensure the efficient and compliant processing of shipments with business, supply chain, and coordination teams.

THE PERSON:

You are an experienced in import and export operations with a comprehensive understanding of U.S. import and export regulations, particularly within the high-tech industry. Your familiarity with regional regulations in the EU, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, India, and Taiwan is advantageous. You have a proven history of working with trade compliance tools, managing screening solutions, and ERP systems. You excel in project management and the implementation of effective processes and procedures. You possess persuasive communication and people skills, allowing you to establish credibility and build rapport with both technical and non-technical teams. Your ability to work extended hours when necessary and your US citizenship are essential for this role.

Regulatory Navigator: Proficient in navigating complex international trade laws and regulations to ensure compliance across global markets.

Strategic Advisor: Skilled in offering guidance and strategic advice to enhance compliance and operational efficiency within the company.

Process Innovator: Experienced in developing and implementing streamlined processes for trade operations, improving efficiency and compliance.

Diligent Communicator: Effective at maintaining clear and consistent communication with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and compliance with trade regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute operational tasks for the Global Trade Compliance team to support business operations.

  • Provide initiative-taking guidance to internal departments to ensure compliance with international regulations.

  • Assist in integrating trade compliance into business unit practices, including policy development and training.

  • Develop and oversee projects to improve global trade operations and mitigate risks.

  • Manage a comprehensive record-keeping program for all import/export documentation.

  • Support compliance investigations and due diligence, implementing necessary corrective actions.

  • Serve as the primary contact for efficient and compliant shipment processing across various teams.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong background in US import and export regulations, especially in the high-tech sector.

  • Familiarity with regional regulations of key international markets.

  • Experience with trade compliance tools, screening solutions, and ERP systems.

  • Proven capability in project management and process improvement.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

  • Additional certifications in trade compliance or international trade are preferred.
