Procurement Specialist (TUV SUD America, Inc.; Auburn Hills, MI): Duties and responsibilities: The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the effective and timely procurement of goods and services to meet the needs of the Operating Units, ensuring compliance with operational procurement policies and procedures. The role will be accountable for Category Management of assigned product categories in the North America region (Supplier Management, Contract Management, Sourcing Initiatives, and Relationship Management with internal stakeholders). Responsibilities include: Monitoring supplier performance to ensure that contract terms and conditions are being met or exceeded and that performance meets customer expectations; Performing operative purchasing tasks within assigned product categories (sourcing, supplier onboarding, price and terms & condition negotiations, PO placement, claim handling); Actively participating in project initiatives and P2P workshops; Developing close working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders within assigned product categories; and Ensuring compliance with regional procurement policy.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration or a related field PLUS 2 years of experience within Procurement, including experience with professional purchasing processes.
Must have: Demonstrated experience and competence using eProcurement and ERP systems such as SAP; Demonstrated competence using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint); Demonstrated ability to hold suppliers accountable for performance; Demonstrated ability to provide accurate, clear, and timely communication of information, both upward and lateral, including verbal, written, and listening skills; Demonstrated ability to represent the company in a professional manner; Demonstrated reliable judgment that is consistent, adaptable to unusual situations, realistic, and employs a common-sense approach to job and problems; Demonstrated motivation, diligence, initiative, and commitment to self-improvement; Demonstrated willingness to consider other's ideas and to work with others as part of a team; Demonstrated strong negotiation skills.
