Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Highways & Traffic Engineering team in Southfield, MI! The successful candidate will have the ability to provide client management, design, and construction administration of roadway/highway projects.

Our roadway design professionals undertake projects ranging in all sizes and complexities, providing conceptual planning, alignment studies, and preparing contract documents for construction of improvements to local and county roadway networks, and state and interstate highways. We develop alternative improvement plans to balance project costs with other factors including environmental, utility and property impacts.

Responsibilities

  • Handle all aspects of a roadway/highway project.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor multidisciplinary teams.
  • Work remotely with team members across multiple locations.
  • Manage, direct, and supervise the work efforts of assigned staff.
  • Coordinate the technical and managerial direction provided by Management regarding scope, schedule, quality, and budget of projects.
  • Understand the federal-aid project delivery process.
  • Possess knowledge of MicroStation, ORD, and/or other relevant transportation design and analysis software, guides, and manuals.
  • Align the practices and processes with company strategic objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
  • 10+ years of relevant transportation design experience is required.
  • PE license is required or licensed through reciprocity.
  • Working knowledge of highway geometry, utility coordination, drainage design, traffic control, ITS design, signing and pavement markings and signalization design, environmental permitting and experience working with MDOT and other major municipalities and transportation agencies in MI is required.
  • Ability to manage clients and develop new business is required.
  • Previous experience managing multi-discipline projects of a unique nature on fast-track schedules.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage a large team of subconsultants.
  • Prior experience managing projects from planning through the conceptual phase to final design and construction.
