Job Description
Description

Crain is looking for a Digital Analytics Manager to join a growing Data & Analytics team. We support all the Crain brands (AdAge, Automotive News, and Crain's Chicago-among others) with actionable intelligence that helps drive revenue and grow the business.

The team is responsible for mining our various data sources to generate actionable insights that increase subscriber engagement, drive higher conversion rates, increase loyalty, and create new revenue opportunities. Join a team that's constantly identifying ways to leverage our best-in-class content to continue the expansion of our fast-growing subscription business.

This role will own our Adobe Analytics platform and ensure that tracking on our websites is set up correctly. We are looking for someone with digital analytics experience that's comfortable sifting through data to uncover and communicate the insights and opportunities that will make the greatest impact on the business. You'll work across the entire customer lifecycle to identify opportunities and challenges to support our brands.

The ideal candidate can analyze data and discuss that analysis in a concise, impactful way to ensure it's well received and implemented. We want someone proactive that can identify trends and opportunities, while collaborating with various teams and brands on the best way to incorporate these insights into actionable strategies. This is not a ticket-taking shop where we spit out reports without any analysis or context.

Responsibilities:

  • Own our web-analytics platform: Adobe Analytics.
  • Create dashboards to help identify how different channels are performing on our websites.
  • Analyze web traffic to identify opportunities for improvement on conversion, retention, etc.
  • Take a consultative approach to collaborate with Crain brands and the overall marketing team to define strategies and prioritize projects.
  • Own and deliver weekly brand engagement reports, identifying trends and insights and communicating them to stakeholders in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Develop ad hoc reports, dashboards, and visualizations from multiple data sources to support business operations.
  • Help drive a data-first culture that builds data literacy and curiosity throughout the company.

Requirements:

  • 5 years experience working with data and insights.
  • 3 years experience working in Adobe Analytics-managing website tracking, creating events, dashboards, etc.
  • Experience creating dashboards in Tableau is a plus.
  • Must be fluent in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with a digital business is preferred.
  • Familiarity with a subscription-model business (traffic, conversion rate, churn, etc.) is a plus.
  • Stellar written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to tell a story in a clear, compelling way.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ideal candidate would get excited about data and technology.

This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Pay Transparency Disclosure:

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000.

The final salary offering will take into accounta wide range of factors, including experience, accomplishments and location. The salary range provided should not be considered as a salary limit or cap. In addition to base salary, Crain also offers competitive benefits including retirement plan savings contributions and bonus opportunities based on individual and company performance.
